The images highlighted translate the vibrant movement and fierce intensity of flamenco onto the two-dimensional plane from various venues in New York City, where there is a thriving culture. The series was captured using black and white fast speed film. The high contrast and grainy approach allowed for a very dramatic and moody collection of emotionally charged images, providing a rare glimpse inside the intimate world of flamenco. I also took this project a step further by incorporating audiovisual installments focusing on the various elements of flamenco. The short film was well received and showcased at the International Museum of Women.
